Welcome to Roseland's Sure Start Children's Centre Homepage

What are children's centres?

Sure Start Children's Centres are designed for children under five and their families to receive high quality integrated services and information within their communities. Services in centres across the county include:

Access to health and parenting support services

Information about training and employment

Access to play activities and childcare a base for childminder networks

Support for children and parents/carers with additional needs

Community meeting rooms

Creche facilities

Access to local Family Information Service advisors

Access to toy libraries

Who are children's centres for?

Children's centres exist to provide services for all children under five and their mums, dads, carers and grandparents.

Who runs children's centres?

Principally funded by central Government's Sure Start scheme, the centres are administered by Cornwall Council in partnership with a range of service providers. Children's centres form an important part of the Government's Every Child Matters agenda as they bring together a wide range of services to give children the best start in life and help them reach their potential.

Have your say and get involved

Children's centres are consulting and working in partnership with families, children and communities to shape services to best meet needs. All centres are working to have parent forums to gain valued input, views and opinions on local services for families.

Get in touch and get involved by contacting Roseland's Centre Manager, Mandy Wells by clicking here, or ring us on: 01872 530543

In the future, the centre are looking to make stronger links with Job Centre Plus on the Roseland, too, saving you having to go to Truro. And we'll be working hard to provide some service for you on Roseland Online as well, once this has been organised.
