At Eden
Down the Eden path we roam,
Trees of every shape and size lie to the left and the right
Gigantic leaves and small leaves
Tiny plants and huge plants
Some nearly 15m tall
All stretching up to the sky
At Eden
A cold dome and a hot dome
But fairly similar plants
Some Mediterranean and some South African,
A waterfall brings spray to our faces
And cools us down
In the shade of the leaves
At Eden
Skates on and feeling nervous
Stepping on to the cold ice
Falling over once or twice
But then getting the hang of it
For 40 minutes we skated round
Although it seemed like 10
At Eden
Then the home trip began
It seemed longer than the first
Reading books and singing songs
With your best friends
We get back to school at last
It was tiring but worth it
At Eden

My New School
It was my first day at my new school
The smell of freshly cut grass and newly laid carpet
It was inviting me
When I heard the birds singing in the trees
They were calling me
Water rockets were being fired in the air
They signalling me
The taste of well-done pizza
It was luring me
The touch of smoothly sanded wood
It was pulling me
To my new school
